Redemption

Psalm 49:7-8
7 No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him 8 For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever.

Bill Gates is on pace to be the world’s first trillionaire in about 20 years.  It is hard to imagine how much money that is.  However, that amount does not even scratch the surface for how much it would cost to redeem ones soul.  In fact no amount of money can redeem your soul.  Verse 8 says that people should not even try to come up with the money to do that.

The only way ones soul can be redeemed is by blood being shed.  Not any ordinary blood, but the blood of a righteous man.  Only one man who has ever lived qualifies.  His name is Jesus Christ.  He is/was the only perfect man in all of history.  His soul is the only that does not need to be redeemed.  With that great distinction in hand, He made an investment for eternity.  He allowed His blood to be shed, in order that we might be redeemed.  God accepted His sacrifice and raised Him back from the dead.  When we accept Jesus as our savior, God applied Jesus’ blood and redeems our soul.  Jesus and His blood are our only hope to live forever in Heaven.

Have you been redeemed by the blood of Jesus?  Has your soul been redeemed?  If not, make today the day.  Call out to Him and ask Him to redeem you.  To save you from the consequences of your sin.  For those who do not have their soul redeemed, their sins forgiven, will spend eternity in Hell apart from God.  I do not want that for you.  Cry out to Him right now!

Dear Jesus, thank you for shedding Your blood for me.  It was a cost that I could never pay on my own.  I thank you that Your love for me drove You to the cross.  I thank you for not leaving us without hope.  I pray for those who read this, who do not know you as their savior.  I pray that today would be the day they would be saved.  Today would be the day or their redemption.  Amen.

Peace With God

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

When we are saved, the price Christ paid on the cross, redeems us, pays our penalty.  We are justified in the eyes of God, by what He did.  But do not miss the obvious, what are status is without the redeeming work of Christ.  We were enemies of God.  If you have not accepted Jesus as your savior, you are an enemy of God.  You have not been justified in the eyes of God and He will find you guilty when you stand before Him.  Jesus is your only hope.  Cry out to Him and come to Him by faith!
