Come Quickly

Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

I do not know about you, but this last year flew by.  It is hard to believe that a new year begins tomorrow.  With this being the last day of the year, we finish our walk through the Bible in 2017.  We end with a promise, that we as Christians look forward too.  Jesus says that “I am coming quickly”.  He promised to return and come back for His church.

Now, some people look at that promise and mock it.  They say that 2,000 years is not exactly quickly.  But God says 1,000 years is but a day to Him.  These 2,000 years are nothing, to a God who knows no time limits.  He was as much alive before time began, that He will be when we are Heaven forever and ever.  He is an eternal God and He is not bound to time like we are.

My heart agrees with John and I cry out “Come, Lord Jesus”.  For when Jesus comes, we will be with Him forever.  When Jesus comes, sin’s reign will end.  When Jesus comes, all of the injustices in this world, will be made just.  When Jesus comes, all of those who have nothing in this world, will be rich.  When Jesus comes, all the tears and sadness will be no more.  When Jesus comes, death will be defeated for ever.  When Jesus comes, the devil will be taken care of.  When Jesus comes, life will really only begin for us and we will live how God had made us to live.

However, these things are true only for those who have been saved by Him.  If you have never accepted God’s free gift of Salvation, you should dread this day.  For you will be judged and thrown into Hell.  There, you will be tormented for eternity, forever separated from God.  Seek Him now, while He might be found.  Ask Jesus to forgive you.  Believe in Him as the Son of God, who died for you sins.  Confess to Him that you are a sinner and need to be forgiven.  And you will be and then you can look forward to His return.

Yes, come Lord Jesus!  Come quickly!

Dear Jesus, I thank you for another year.  I thank you for the memories made in it.  I thank you for being with me through it.  I thank you for the newness of a new year.  I pray that 2018 is a better year than 2017 was.  I thank you for Your promise that You are coming quickly.  Come Lord Jesus, come.  Amen.

No More

Revelation 21:4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

After all of the judgments are done, a new Heaven and a new Earth are made.  This new creation, will not have any side effects from sin.  For they will be no more sin.  The current creation it is moaning and dying because mankind’s sin.  We will not feel the side effects of sin either.

No longer will be sad because of a sin.  No longer will people die because of sin.  There will be no more mourning.  There will be no more crying or pain caused by it.  Sin is gone, forever and ever and with it are the consequences it brought.

Sins destroy things.  They destroy our relationships, our bodies, our minds, and everything else.  The ultimate cause of our death, will be cause of complications from sin.  In the new Heaven, we will need to worry about that.  For sin will not be found there.  What a glorious place to live, in communion with other saints and our especially in the presence of our God and our Savior!

The bad things will be no more!

Dear Jesus,  I thank you for this new Heaven and new Earth will live in one day.  I think you that sin will be gone forever.  But before I get there, I still sin.  Forgive me of those sins.  Help me to repent and turn from that sin.  Help me to do the good, which You created me for.  Come soon, Lord Jesus! Amen.

Hell is For Real

Revelation 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Hell is a real place, in which many, many people will be tormented for eternity.  It is a place which all mankind has earned a place in.  We all deserve to go to Hell and face an eternal punishment there.  That is where we go because we are “good enough”.  Only by the grace of God can we be saved from it.

It is not a happy place.  It is not a party place.  It is not a fun place.  It is a place of torment.  It is a place of fire and brimstone.  The inhabitants of it, will be tortured, with no relief for eternity.  There will be groaning and cursing.   No good will be there, only evil.  It is a place none of want to be at, yet so many will go to it.

There is a hope to not go there.  Jesus died for our sins and offers us forgiveness.  This forgiveness allows us to go Heaven and not to Hell.  This is our only hope.  Jesus is our only hope.  Only through Jesus can we be saved from going to Hell.  We must believe that He is the Son of God, who died for our sins.  We must confess that we are a sinner in need of salvation.  We must accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord of our lives.  He is our only hope!

Dear Jesus, thank you for coming and giving me hope.  Thank you for making a way to avoid Hell.  Thank you for saving me and forgiving me.  You are the only way.  Help those who are not saved come to You.  Help them to know You and to call upon You.  Amen.

A Multitude of Worship

Revelation 19:6 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, ” Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

What an awesome sound it will be, when all of the redeemed who are in Heaven worship their Savior in one accord.  The sound will be great and roar like thunder.  People from every tribe and nation, every skin color, male and female, will be there.  People who lived through out all of history.  How amazing and wonderful!

They are worshiping Christ, as He is about to return to the earth.  Upon arrival, He will destroy any who attempt to stand in His way and rule first for a thousand years.  The Son of God will reign on earth.  He will be with us.  We will see Him and be with Him.  How great and wonderful!  What a day that will be!

Dear Jesus, I look forward to being in Heaven and worshiping You with the multitudes.  Only You are worthy of it, Oh Lord.  What a great day in history it will be when You return to earth to reign on it.  Come Lord Jesus, come!  Amen.s

God Remembers Everything

Nehemiah 13:14 Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out my loyal deeds which I have performed for the house of my God and its services.

Nehemiah asks God to remember him for all the good that he did in calling his people to repentance and back to following God.  God remembers all of it.  He has a perfect memory.  There is not a thing that we do, which God does not know about or remember it.  He knows all the good things and the bad things we do.  One day, every person will stand before Him to be judged on it.  For those who are saved, the judgement will be for rewards in Heaven.  For those not saved, the judgement will be for condemnation.

We must remember that God remembers all that we do.  This must factor into every decision that we make.  He knows all that we do, nothing is done in secret.  There is no place in all of creation which we can go and hide from God.  He is everywhere.  In God’s eyes, there is no such thing as a secret sin.  It is all out in front of Him, so be careful what you do.

Dear God, help me to remember that You always remember.  That You never forget.  Thank you for Your forgiveness of my sins.  Thank you for loving me, even though You know all the evil in my heart at times.  Amen.

More Than a Baby in Manger

Revelation 17:14 “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

We just celebrated the little babe, lying in a manger.  The story is so pure and innocent.  The Son of God is born in an animal shelter and laid in an animal feeding trough.  Not the reception into the world that most royal kids receive.  But there is more to this baby.  His story does not end in a feeding trough.  The baby grows up to be a man, as well as God.  This man never sins and lives a perfect life.  His flawless life ends, when He lays it down for us.  Jesus went to the cross on purpose, for that was why the baby was born.  He shed His blood that you and I might be forgiven.  After He died, He was laid in a tomb.  The tomb was sealed by a big rock and guarded by Roman soldiers.  The leaders were afraid somebody might try to break into the tomb to get His body, but nobody needed to.  For on the third day, He came back to life and left the tomb empty.  He spent 40 days with His disciples before returning to Heaven, to prepare a place for us.

He is still there to this day, but one day He is coming back.  He will not come back as a baby, but instead He will return riding a war-horse, leading an army of His saints.  We who are saved, are among that number.  The evil leaders on the earth will try to make war with Him, but they stand no chance.  As the above verse says, He will overcome them.  He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.  Nobody else in history is like Him.  He is the greatest of all time.  Some people have the “Coexist” bumper sticker on their car.  That sticker is trash, for Jesus has no equal.  He stands about everyone.  For He alone is the Lord of Lords and the Kings of Kings, the Lamb of God, who died for your sins.

So now that Christmas is over, do not leave the baby in the manger.  Follow His story through the Bible.  Read of His teachings and miracles.  Read of His love for you.  Read of His and death and resurrection.  And read about His return and coronation.  But most importantly, follow Him and believe in Him as the only true God.  Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven, no other roads will take you there.  It is exclusive in that way, but it is inclusive that anyone can walk that road.  God loves everyone and wishes for all to repent, but He will not force you to.  That choice is yours.  Every type of sin, which has ever been committed, has already been forgiven at the cross multiple times.  No matter what sin you have in your life, He is willing to forgive you, once and for all.  Come to the cross and seek the forgiveness that Jesus offers.

Thank you, O Jesus for being more than a baby in a manger.  I thank you that the story does not end there, it is only the beginning.  I thank you for dying for my sins and defeating death by rising again.  I thank you for preparing a place for me.  I thank you that one day, You will return as a conquering King.  I thank you for Your eternal Kingdom, which nobody will be able to topple.  Thank your for love and grace.  Thank you for how great and mighty You are.  Thank you for how meek and mild You are.  Thank you for being my God.  Amen.

God’s Peace

Luke 2:13-14

13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”

Merry Christmas!

The shepherds were out with their sheep, when all of a sudden an angel lit up the night sky and terrified these men.  Shepherds were not easily terrified.  David said as a shepherd he had to kill both lions and bears to protect his flock.  These were tough men, but the angel totally frightened them.  The angel told them of a baby, lying in a manger, who was the long-awaited Messiah.  If one angel was not terrifying enough, all of sudden a multitude of angel appeared.  What a sight!  The angels gave glory to God and proclaimed His peace to those on earth who pleased God.  What a terrifying way to proclaim peace!

The angelic message announced the birth of Jesus.  Jesus was born to make it possible for us to have peace with God.  See, without Jesus it is impossible for us to have peace with Him.  Our sin, makes us an enemy of God.  God hates sin and cannot be around it.  God gave the Israelite’s away to have temporary peace with Him, through shedding the blood of animals.  Blood needs to be shed, in order for our sins to be forgiven.  This did not provide lasting peace, so God sent His Son to shed His blood for us.  That is why this baby was born.  He was born to die, in order that we might have peace with God.

We can only have this peace, if we accept His sacrifice.  We must God to forgive our sins, because of what Jesus did on the cross.  This offer is a free gift.  We cannot pay to have peace with God.  We cannot earn peace with God.  The only way we can have peace with God, is through the baby lying in the manger.  That is the peace spoken of by the angels.  Jesus loves you.  God loves you.  That is why they paid the price to have peace with you.

So the question, this Christmas is do you have that peace?  Have you ever accepted the shed blood of Jesus?  Have your sins been forgiven?  Have you let this baby save you?  If not, then make today you do.  You doing so would be a great gift to Jesus on His birthday.

Oh God, I thank you for the peace that I have with You, because of the shed blood of Jesus.  I thank you for forgiving my sins and cleansing me.  Thank you for the baby in the manger.  Thank you for angelic message of peace.  You came in such a humble way the first time, but we look forward to Your second coming as conquering King.  I pray for those who read this, who do not have peace with You.  May they make today the day, when they get it.  Work in their hearts.  Thank you for everything.  Happy Birthday, Jesus.  I love you.  Amen.

No Room

Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Some people missed the magical wonder of that first Christmas, because they had no room for baby Jesus.  They missed the birth of the newly born King.  They missed the shepherds coming and sharing their story of an angelic visit.  They missed the star, shining bright over the new-born baby.  They missed the awe in the animals, as they were seeing their creator.  Many people missed seeing Jesus that first Christmas, because they had no room for Him.

Sadly, this is very true today.  Many, many people miss Jesus, because they have no room for Him.  They think their lives are too busy to worry about Him.  They clutter it, with things that do not matter.  They miss out on His gift of forgiveness and salvation.  They miss feeling His amazing love.  They miss out on a personal relationship with Him.  And one day, they will miss out on going to Heaven with Him.

I urge you to take some time and make room for Jesus.  Let Him in to your life.  Let Him forgive You and love You.  Let Him save you.  Let Him have a personal relationship with you and fellowship with you.  You can only do that by making room for Him.

Now if you had never made room for Jesus and asked Him to live in your heart, cry out to Him right now.  Ask Him to save you.  Ask Him to forgive you.  Trust Him as the only way, by which you might be saved.  Confess that you are a sinner.  Tell Him, you want to make room for Him.

If you are saved, sometimes we go through times where we crowd Jesus out of our lives.  Take some time and pray and ask Him to help you make room.  Think about what might crowd Jesus out and get rid of it.

Make sure this Christmas that you make room for Jesus!  Merry Christmas!

Dear Jesus, help me to remove the clutter in my life and make room for You.  Help me to not crowd You out.  Forgive me for the times that I do.  I thank you for being born, on that first Christmas.  I look forward to Your second return, when You come as a conquering King.  Thank you for Your love and forgiveness.  Amen.

A Cause for Celebration

Revelation 11:10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

During the end times, two men will appear on the earth.  These two men will be witnesses for God.  Many believe that these men are really Moses and Elijah from the Old Testament.  They will have power to cause the rain to stop and to turn water into blood.  If anyone comes to arrest them, fire will come out of their mouths and devours the foolish person.  Their ministry will last for just under 3 1/2 years.  At that time, the Anti-Christ will be able to overcome them and put them to death.  This event is a cause for a world-wide celebration.  Like Christmas, people will give gifts to one another and watch their dead bodies for 3 1/2 days.  When that time is up, God will raise them and the whole world will see them go up to Heaven and a great earthquake will destroy 10% of Jerusalem, where their bodies had laid in the street.

Oh the irony.  We give gifts at Christmas, because of the God the Father had given His Son to save us.  The people in the end will give gifts, because God’s witnesses were killed.  My my, how the world will be fallen.  Can you imagine giving gifts and celebrating the death of somebody?  Now, we do celebrate the lives of the people who die.  A lot of times funerals are called life celebrations.  But this is different.  They are not celebrating the lives of these two great men.  Instead they are celebrating that somebody finally killed them.  Evil only has a short laugh, but the laugh of the good lasts forever.  The celebration halts when God calls these men home, that is real celebration starts!

As Christmas is here, take time to know why we celebrate it.  It is not the gifts.  It is not the time with loved ones.  It is not the music.  It is not the tree, nor the man in the red suit.  We celebrate Christmas for the babe who was born and laid in manager.  We celebrate the birth of a King.  We celebrate the birth of a Savior.  We celebrate the birth of Jesus!

Lord, help us all to take time to remember why we celebrate Christmas.  It is all about Your birth  into this world.  Help us to be foolish and celebrate when evil triumphs.  Thank you that evil only has a short laugh and that Your good overcomes evil.  Amen.

Know Your Place

Nehemiah 1:11 “O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man.” Now I was the cupbearer to the king.

It is important to know your place before God.  He is God and you are not.  He is the mighty, all-powerful, all-knowing, great and awesome Creator of all and you are just one of His creations.  His power holds everything together and that includes you.  Nehemiah knew this and that is why he referred to himself as God’s servant.  He knew that he needed God and God’s help in his life.  He prayed for God to make him successful that day.  He knew that He needed God.

Our prayers need to reflect this attitude.  We need to be humble before our God.  God can do a lot with a humble heart, which is mold able.  When we are humble, God can shape us light wet clay, into what He wants to be.  When we are not humble before Him, it is harder to shape us and sometimes the shaping process involves breaking pieces off of us.  God did many great things through Nehemiah, mainly because Nehemiah had a humble heart before God.  God can do great things through you as well, if you know your place before Him.

Dear God, help me to know my place before You.  Help me to humble before You.  Help me to be mold able before You.  For You are great and mighty and powerful.  Your love for me is amazing.  Thank you for all of that.  Amen.
