18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day. 19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know over what they stumble.
The way of the righteous is light and the way of the wicked is darkness. God’s way is the light. When we walk in the light we are able to see where we are going. If you have ever walked through a forest, you know that a path sometimes has rocks, tree roots, or branches going across it. When you walk the path with light, you are able to see the obstacles and mostly avoid them. By avoiding them, you will not stumble and fall. However if you are walking that path at night, in the darkness, how easily it would be stumble on a snare which you did not see.
Life is like that path. When we walk with God, He is our light and we are able to see any snares ahead. We all have times where they still makes stumble, but God helps us get back up and get going again. When we walk the path without God, the snares of life trip us up. We struggle to get back and get walking again. Some people feel it is better to stay in the snare and not try to free themselves. They rather be stuck and settle where they are.
God is willing to help the wicked get back up. When they call to Him, He will invade the darkness with His light. Light always overcomes darkness, darkness never overcomes the light. The wicked will never overcome God, but will overcome the wicked.
Where are you on this path? Are you walking in the darkness or the light? Are you relying on God to shine on your path and lead you through? Have you ever called out to Jesus to save you from the darkness of your sin? This world was full of darkness and then Jesus came. He is the light of the world! He made a way for us to leave the darkness and to enter the light. Our sins deserve to be punished. We deserve to be tortured day and night forever and ever in hell. Jesus came and died for our blood. He was a sacrifice, which God the Father willingly accepts in order to provide forgiveness for our sins, but it is more than just forgiveness. When we ask Jesus to save us and forgive us, our sin record is wiped clean. God imputes the righteousness of Jesus unto us. We are totally cleansed as if we never sinned. All of ours sins are gone, which includes past, present, and future sins. All forgiven. All wiped away. The Light of God invades the darkness of our lives and we are forever changed. Have you experienced this? If not, call out to Him today. Confess that you are sinner, in need of saving from the punishment you rightly deserve. Believe that Jesus is the only Son of God and the only one who can save you. Trust Him by faith, to be your savior. And the Light will invade the darkness!
Dear Jesus, I thank you that You invaded the darkness of this world and the darkness of my life. I thank You for saving me, by grace, based all on what You have done and nothing I deserve. You are my only hope. You are my only light. Help me to walk by that light and avoid the snares of life. When I fall, I thank you for picking me back up. You would be justified to leave me fallen, but You love me to much. Praise You Oh God, for Your amazing love and grace! I worship You! I love You! Amen.
