Look to God

Psalm 123:1-2
1 To You I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens!  2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He is gracious to us.

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.”  Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

We are turn our eyes upon God, as Christians where else should we look.  To this hopeless, vile world?  Should look to ourselves?  We need to turn to God and look at His wonderful face.  When we keep our focus on Him this world does not worry us as much.  All the worries and stresses of this life seem pale in comparison to how great He is.  We must patiently look to Jesus and wait for Him to take care of us.

Verse 3 of the song above goes like this:

“His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!”

His word will not fail.  His promises will not fail.  Keep trusting and looking to God.  Keep believing Him and He will see us soon.  And when He does see us through, we need to respond by telling others about Him.  Tell them about His wonder and what wonderful things He has done for you.  Tell them how He saved you and saw you through all of the tough times you have had.

Thank you Jesus for all that You have done and will do.  You are wonderful.  To You, Oh Lord I look.  To You, I turn my eyes to.  My help comes from You.  My salvation comes from You.  You are so so good!  Help me to keep my gaze upon You.  Amen.
