God Keeps His Promises

Psalm 105:8 He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations.

God keeps His promises.  It is simple statement of fact, which we often forget to in hard times.  If God said it, it will happen.  God does not lie.  God does not go back on His word.  God does not change His mind and alter the terms.  He is faithful in all of His dealings.

In the beginning of the Bible, after Adam and Eve sinned, God promised to send His Son to deal with their sin.  He did.  Jesus came and died for the sins of the people.  God promised Abraham that his decedents would outnumber the stars.  Those of us who have trusted Jesus as our savior our counted in the number of Abraham’s decedents.  God promised Joshua that He would never leave him nor forsake him.  God was with Him in all of his conquests.  God promised David that he would be king and it happened.  God promised to punish Israel for their sin and have their land overtaken and so it was.  God promised that Israel would once again be a nation and they are.  Jesus promised to return one day and He will.  God promised many more things and was faithful to all of those promises.

God always keeps His promises.  Trust Him and live like you believe it.  It easy to believe it is true, the hard part sometimes is to live our lives in light of what we believe.  Our lives should be shaped around this fact.  What a foundation for lives!  Our God keeps His promises and He promises to see me through.  We need to start living our lives having this fact as our foundation.  If we do, nothing can shake us.

Dear God, I thank you for keeping Your word.  I thank you for being faithful, even when we are not.  I thank you that You are the truth and in You there is no deceit.  You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.  I look forward to that glorious day when You return.  Come soon Lord Jesus!  Amen.
