Rest Easy

Psalm 69:29 But I am afflicted and in pain; May Your salvation, O God, set me securely on high.

Rest easy in the troubled times and trust in God.  If you know Jesus as your Savior, you are secure in Him.  You are in His hands and nothing can shake you free.  Nothing can undo your adoption as His child.  You are His.  I am His.  Stop and think about that for a minute.  The great God, creator and sustainer of all, King of all, has adopted you as His child.  You are a child of the one true King!  Wow!

So when tough times come, we need to cling to that.  That fact should be the starting point of how we live our lives.  Everything we do needs to be done in the light of that fact.  I do not about you, but I am not always living that way.  It easy to get caught up in the troubles of this world and take your eyes off of Him.  Like Peter did, when Jesus called him out of the boat to walk on the water.  He did fine when he focused on Jesus, but as soon as he let the worries of the waves consume him, he started to sink.  But the fact is that the whole time, he was secure in Jesus.  Jesus was there, who is mightier than the waves, the creator of the waves.  He is Lord over all!  But the best news is that Peter was secure in Jesus, even when he took his eyes off of Him.  Jesus was there to pull him back up.  Jesus is there for us to pull us back up.  Trust Him!  Rest Easy!

Dear Jesus, thank you for the security which You provide.  Thank you that no matter what you are there to take care of us.  Thank you that You are Lord over all.  Thank you that we can rest easy in You.  You are so amazing and wonderful.  You are faithful when I am not.  Lord, help me to live my life in the light of the fact that I am secure in You.  Amen
