2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
So many people now days want to identify with different groups. These groups are based on gender, race, sexuality, class, political, religion, and many other lines. After groups are formed they are pitted against one another, to a point that causes division and strife. We have become so divided in this culture that we look down on people in other groups or on the people who try to bring peace between the groups. The peacemakers are looked down on as almost traitors.
We are not to be that way as Christians. Paul scolded the Corinthian church for dividing itself. As Christians our identity is in Christ. In reality there are two groups of people in the world. Those who are saved and those who are not. Those who are saved are our brothers and sisters. Those who are not, are not our enemies. They are our mission to go out and bring the saving knowledge of Christ to.
We need to stop dividing our selves and be united in Jesus Christ. The dying world needs us to be unified so that they may see the love of God flow through us. Love your neighbor as Christ loves them.
