Psalm 33:21 For our heart rejoices in Him, Because we trust in His holy name.
When we trust in God, He honors that trust and gives us this peace, which so so amazing and wonderful (Philippians 4:7). It washes away the worry and stress we might have had. I think can of a recent time where I was really stressed out and praying hard. Then all of sudden, I did not even realize it was happening, God gave me this peace. He drove away the worry and the stress and replaced with this deep, calming peace. It really is unexplainable apart from God. When I realized this had happened, it led me to rejoice in God and praise and worship Him.
Joy is different than happiness. Happiness depends on our circumstances. Joy does not. Joy is much deeper and richer than happiness. Rejoice is used 38 times in the New Testament. Jesus told us to rejoice, because are names are recorded in Heaven (Luke 10:20). He tells also that our grief will be turned into joy (John 16:20). Paul talked about rejoicing in the book of Philippians 6 times, a book that he wrote from a jail cell in Rome. The last usage is found in Philippians 4:4:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
Trusting God and rejoicing go hand in hand. God wants us to trust in Him, in every circumstance. God wants us to rejoice in Him, also in every circumstance. God is faithful and He will reward our trust with joy. That does mean if you trust in God, you will win the lottery or something. It means He will see you through and fill you with something greater than money, His joy and peace. God’s riches are much better than the world’s.
Trust in God today and rejoice!
