Luke 1:30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.
Mary was chosen by God to be the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved God and was open to doing what God asked her to do. She trusted in Him fully. Which was a good thing, because God made her pregnant as a virgin. Having a baby out of marriage may be common today, but in her day it could of killed her.
Mary will be with Jesus all the way through the cross. She was there when He was crucified and she got to see Him risen. Many scholars believe she was one of Luke’s sources when he wrote his gospel.
Mary reminds to trust in God during the hard times. That we need to rely on Him. Remember this Christmas to keep on trusting in God!
