Hope & Reassurance

Romans 14:11 For it is written, “AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD.”

This verse is quoted form Isaiah 45:23.  It is a verse which gives me hope and reassurance.  When I see evil people successfully avoiding justice or somebody mocking God, this verse is a promise full of hope and reassurance.  It gives me hope, because God’s Word is faithful.  He said it and it will come to pass.

One day, everyone who ever lived, will appear before the judgement seat of Christ.  Note this, the everyone includes Satan.  He too will bow before Jesus and confess that He is God.  While there, we will all fall to our knees and confess Jesus as Lord.  The only difference between people is some will fall willingly and joyfully, but others will do it by force, filled with contempt for God.  The latter will go on to eternal punishment, as will some in the first group.  Some of us play “church” now, but God will not let us do that in heaven.  He knows our hearts, we cannot fool Him.

How will you approach this moment?  Are you willingly now to bow your knee to Jesus and confess Him as Lord?  When this verse is fulfilled, it will be too late to change where you will spend eternity.  Decide today to bow to Jesus and make Him the Lord of your life.  Do not put off, for we are not guaranteed tomorrow, decide today.
