1 Corinthians 1:18
18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
When we come to the cross, we come to a place of decision, a crossroads. We need to choose the world or Christ. There are only two options. Indecision is choosing the world and rejecting the redeeming work Jesus did by dying. Do you view the cross as foolish? Do you view the people being saved as foolish? Does the whole idea of God becoming man and dying for your sins seem foolish to you? If so the verse says you are the one perishing, which makes you a fool. The true fool is the one who rejects a loving God and chooses the world.
We are only saved by the power of God, because of what Jesus, the perfect lamb of God, did on the cross. God does the work and we get the benefit.
