Daniel 2:20 Daniel said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him.
27 Daniel answered before the king and said, “As for the mystery about which the king has inquired, neither wise men, conjurers, magicians nor diviners are able to declare it to the king. 28 “However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the latter days. This was your dream and the visions in your mind while on your bed.
Daniel gave glory to God both in His private prayers and before the most powerful king on earth at the time. It is important for us to have the same character and attitude in both public and private. Daniel knew no matter where he was God was there with him. Daniel knew no matter who he was with, God was always with him. His people were just uprooted for doing the opposite. The priest in public would praise God, but God showed Ezekiel, in Chapter 8, how their private lives were filled with idols and “wicked abominations” (Verse 9). God was not/is not fooled by this hypocrisy. He is all-knowing and knows all that we do.
How about you and me? Are our lives the same in public and private? Does God find our private lives filled with garbage? If we are honest, all of us have some things we do/think in our private lives that we would never do in our public, the degree just varies. Confess those to God and pray for His strength to be authenticate.
